Hello! I'm just looking for advice on what I can do. I'm a 21F who is currently a pre-med student. I would say I'm fairly attractive (I've had several guys ask me out walking on campus and went on a study dates). I'd also say I have strong beliefs when it comes to my faith (not necessarily the typical conservative) and I'm a decent person with no huge red flags. I definitely have flaws, but nothing that is unordinary. However, I have shied away from dating because my Indian parents wanted me to focus on education only for a while and I agreed with that.
I've realized I'm attracted to intellectual guys who I can connect with through conversation. I'm also looking for someone with the same values who is also just a decent person. I'm interested in Christian guys specifically, but most of the Indian Christian guys at my church are very athletic, very outgoing, and not at all like the type I'm attracted to. This is probably because In fact, most of the guys I tend to fall for are older by a few years because they tend to have this personality. However, I have NO CLUE how to hint that I am interested as it's not very common among in my Indian community to have girls initiate that with a guy. I've heard that "You attract what you are" but I think I am what I want to attract and working towards it. I work out, study, am tolerant of others, and try to engage in conversations with everyone but I can't even find anyone in my vicinity who is my type.
Now, I know you might be thinking to just ask a church member, but most Indian Christian guys I have seen (I've seen plenty my entire life here) fall into the personality listed above. So, I'm not trying to jump around churches just for this reason. I know I need to start dating and take steps towards that, but I'm curious where I can find guys like I listed above? Is there something I should change about my preferences/myself, or can I get general advice on how to attract such men?
