I (25 F) started talking to this guy (28 M) about 3 weeks ago. We exchanged phone numbers and have been texting via iMessage for almost 2 weeks now. He asked to meet me after about a week of messaging. I told him that I have a chronic health problem and I have to get a special medication for it (it takes a while for it to get approved and come to my house, and my doctor didn’t tell me how long it would take, so I had no idea until after I got on the dating app). And I told him that I wanted to feel healthy again before I meet him in person. He told me that it wasn’t a problem to wait for me and he said that all good things take time or something like that. I thought we were really hitting it off and had good texting chemistry. We were texting Friday night and he told me he was visiting his parents with his dog. I’m the last one who sends a text on Friday night, (not a closing text) and no response from him. I open Hinge on Sunday (the app we found each other on), and he’s just gone. I text him and ask him if he unmatched with me or deleted his Hinge. He apologized for not giving me a heads up and told me that he’s “old schooled” and he gets “into the groove of talking to someone” and doesn’t like talking to multiple at once, so he deleted his Hinge profile. He’s told me that he’s very old-fashioned before. I am too. I then deleted my profile too, because I was sick of checking it and I get burned out talking to so many people at once. Plus, he’s my favorite guy that I’m “talking to.” I text him back and tell him most of this, except that he’s my favorite guy, (because I haven’t met him yet). So then we talk about regular things and I eventually say I want to go to bed early. He says he will catch up with me tomorrow (which is now today) and he has to clean because he’s having his family over for dinner tomorrow (tonight, of course). He hasn’t texted me at all and I have this bad feeling that he won’t... of course the day isn’t over yet (it’s 7:02 pm) and I think he knows I don’t usually go to bed until 10:30. And he saw his parents Friday night... but he’s having family over for dinner...? And he just deleted his Hinge a couple days ago. And he hasn’t texted me like he said he would. Why do I feel like he’s already exclusive with some girl and just didn’t tell me? I feel like he’s having a girl over for dinner. I feel bad for distrusting and being suspicious of him, but I’ve once had the misfortune of being a side chick and not knowing it until it’s too late. I don’t want to trust an asshat and get hurt again. I don’t know what I should do if he doesn’t text me tonight. I really feel like ignoring him if he texts me tomorrow or after that. Am I being too suspicious and distrusting? Advice and thoughts please!
