This concept has always seemed strange to me. I understand thet feeling of accomplishment after having sex because it signifies mutual attraction and the carnal instinct that it is.
But most people that brag about having many sexual partners cone across as abstract and that achievement doesn't seem to strike me as anything to grant a high-5 to. It's often seldom that these people with high body-counts are genuinely happy with the quantity of these partners.
I don't hold it against anyone for having many sexual partners as at the end of the day intimacy is important & many people use sex to determine the probability of a successful relationship with a potential partner.
But the people that will have sex with anything & anyone in order to reach a number just seems like such a high school achievement. And the funny thing is that most of their sexual partners are either salty because they have been ghosted afterwards or they aren't even on good enough terms to make eye contact.
I know not all relationships end on friendly terms but bragging about having many sexual partners screams "I'm doing this simply because no one likes me long enough to enjoy my company" to me.
The whole thing just seems like a high school achievement to me. I've met people that can't have relationships due to them being naturally un-likeable people & other cases that are actually embarrassed of their high body-count due to the quality of those partners.
Call me old fashioned but I'd prefer to have a lot less sexual partners but on a higher caliber ( in terms of mentality, personality, character & mutual enthusiasm) than go for a quantity of partners that don't mean anything to you other than a barcode.
