A little bit of background about myself.
A man in early 30s. Live in Seattle. Work in tech. average height and looks but doing pretty well financially.
Started online dating few years ago. Spent most of my 20s focusing on my career and building wealth and missed out on building relationships organically, which is my biggest regret lol.
I also try to hide the fact that I work in tech and have interesting hobbies like guitar and traveling on my Hinge profile lol.
it could be my personality, but I don't flaunt my wealth nor do I even bring that up, nor do I ever mention all the tech work that I do on those dates. I also volunteer at nursing homes so I don't think I am a bad person haha.
I am doing pretty well career-wise and financially, but I find that it's incredibly difficult to find a long-term partner using Hinge or Tinder. (so far most of the dates fizzled out after a few rounds)
Out of all the likes that I send out, only a fraction of them turn into matches, and out of all the matches that I get, only a fraction of them turn into conversations, and out of all those conversations, only a fraction of them turn into first dates, and out of those first dates, only a fraction of them turn into second dates, after which most women lost interest (which seems to be the experience shared by many other men).
Based on this personal experience, is it even realistic for me to expect to be able to find a woman who would love me and stay committed to me for more than a year? it seems impossible.
even if I manage to find someone and get married after a long and painful process. there's also chances of dead bedrooms, cheating, divorce, which seem inevitable in the modern world due to the soaring standards on both genders' parts, which would also set back my retirement by decades.
For other men around my age, have you guys given up on dating or finding long term partners or are you still looking? are you doing better? would love to hear your stories.
