So some context. At the start of September, I (33M) went on a couple dates with, will call her Sam (30F). We hit it off immediately and went on 2 dates really only 24 hours apart. We had planned a 3rd date to go to the Big E a couple days after our 2nd date and she ended up “getting sick” and we ended up not going and later that day she texted me saying that she didn’t want to continue cause she was going through the end of her schooling and was graduating in December so she didn’t want to have a “potential relationship” looming over her when she was trying to finish school. Sucks but totally understandable.
A couple days ago, Sam texted me about one of my favorite bands coming on while she was listening to music and she wanted to see how things were going for me. We sent maybe 3-4 texts back and forth and I was the last one to text and said something along the lines “I hope the rest of the school year goes well and hopefully we can reconnect at some point when school is over!” Didn’t hear back from her. Fine, no big deal.
This morning I receive this text from her.
“Hi, so I’ve been thinking about what you said the other day. I was wondering if we could maybe get coffee or something and talk. There are some things I should explain about what I was feeling when I decided to broke things off. But I regret that decision, and I truly want to give this a shot.”
Reddit, what do I do? I’m trying to be realistic and I have something’s that I want to say but I don’t want to set myself up.
