Graceful way to ask someone to be FWB?

In Spring of 2019, I started hooking up with this guy I go to college with. Im 21F, he's 20M, we were seeing each other for about 2 months. Neither of us wanted a relationship at the time but we did become pretty good friends, and I was also the first (possibly still the only) person he'd ever had sex with.

We stopped seeing each other because the semester was ending and I didn't want it to become too serious by having him drive out to visit me over the summer, but now its 'rona times and I'm lonely as hell and would totally love to see him again. We didnt really talk much at all once we stopped seeing each other, but then I saw his band perform last month and and we talked for a while, and we've had a few conversations since then at school.

I'm not sure how to bring this up to him without sounding like a tool. I guess I'm also just afraid of embarrassing myself if he's not interested. Part of me also feels like I have an extra responsibility as his first sexual partner to not make him feel objectified in any way (which I guess I'm afraid would be the consequence of me saying "hey do you want to hang out and have sex sometimes but not really anything more than that") but maybe I'm over thinking it.

Thoughts?

Also-- I truly am a Dr. Fauci lover, so please forgive my hypocrisy
