My Ex was my first relationship and we lasted 4 years, but she broke up with me in October. I was a mess at, but since then I've gotten a better sense of closure and I don't think about her as much (I even started a thing where I would do five pushups whenever I thought of her for an extended period of time). But since that very first day my ex broke up with me, I have been talking to this other girl who I now have feelings for. We met by being in the same small group in a class and she reached out after I mentioned my roommate recently got Covid. We talked more and more and got really close over the past few months.
Fast forward to now, we both know we like each other but agreed that I am in no spot for a relationship right now as I am not fully over my ex (she said she is entirely willing to wait until I am comfortable and ready). I seriously thought that would be by the end of the week, I barely thought of my ex and did, at most, ten pushups a day for the past 2 weeks. I thought I was doing really well in getting over my ex, but then a picture of her came up on my Instagram feed and I couldn't breathe. My question is, how did you know when you were over your ex?
