The reason behind this is because in my head I reversed the situation, we all get approached by complete strangers in the streets, the human equivalent of a pop-up advertisement, the people with brochures, leaflets, surveys, petitions, those people who approach you and are like "hello sir, do you have a minute to talk about X/Y?"? The level of disdain, that feeling of "oh, please not now" I have for those people, is what I imagine is the level of displeasure I'd be bringing upon a girl if I approached them as a complete stranger.
While I agree 100% that its normal to get rejected a bunch, but we NEED success in order to keep moving forward. Sure it sucks getting rejected 8/10 times but those 2 times of NOT getting rejected are what keeps us going. Without those 2 success it is very hard to keep trying, there is nothing keeping you going. There is only the pain of getting rejected and nothing positive coming your way from all the hard work.
Would you still go to the gym if you never lost weight/gained muscle? I know I wouldnt, I just think in the grand scheme of things dating is a numbers game, women dont like getting apprached, I get it I would'nt want to be apprached by an ugly man.
