Hi, I'm 26F dating 26M boyfriend. We have been together for a little more than a year.
I am not confident about my body. Whenever we are intimate, I always want the light off. Even with the light off (because of course we don't make it completely pitch dark) I am still self conscious because of the fact that he can still see my body. I avoid having sex in the morning because it is bright. I just really cannot focus on enjoying when it is bright. Whenever it is bright I try to cover my body with sheets or put on clothes as quickly as possible.
To make it clear, this is not a problem that my bf caused at all. He always compliments my body. He always says he finds my body super attractive. There is nothing wrong he is doing. I've just always been like this. By this I mean I was like this in previous relationships as well.
The thing is, I do know that being able to see my body more clearly is a factor that influences his satisfaction. I know he wishes that I was more confident and is waiting for the day when I will finally feel comfortable showing my body under bright light. And I DO know that confidence is what guys find hot in girls as well.
So... I really want to change and be the "hot confidrnt girl". But I haven't been successful.
I just cannot stop thinking about my flat butt or hair down there (even though he said he doesn't mind the hair at all), short legs, ugly feet, etc etc... I also do feel insecure because my body is just... nothing special but my bf is in a very good shape anyone would find hot.
I also know this is quite a common issue many women go through. Is there anyone who found a way to overcome this issue? Thank you.
