Guy I was dating starting acting distant. I tried to end things on account - he seems shocked and said he really liked me. He took me out and we had a lovely time. Ghosted. Wtf???

So I went on a couple dates with this guy and they were really nice. Then he started getting a bit shitty with his phone, pushing me to come over- I got vibes he wanted this to be casual sex. I don’t want that and I sent I’m a text literally saying that. I said: you seem distant , you don’t answer your texts and leave me on read for days I liked you but it’s over. He replied SHOCKED like what?! I’m sorry I do really like you I never meant to make you feel that way I’m shitty I’m sorry can I take you out tomorrow? I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and said yes. Again we had a lovely date in person we were always good together and I really fancied him. It was super cupply and cute. Then ghosted!!! 👻 wtf??? Why was he so persistent that he liked me and so keen to take me out just to ghost me after? I’m just confused 🤷🏼‍♀️
