I've been speaking frequently to a friend I met with in my first year of college n slept with/saw for a few weeks/months before I realised I wasn't over my ex and stopped it (approx. 4-5 yrs ago).
We've been speaking a lot over this recent lockdown, early December til now, and I let her know of my intentions pretty early on which was that I was interested in dating her, but obviously the current lockdown and pandemic in the UK has made that difficult, especially when she's got an issue with her lungs which makes her higher-risk. She seemed pretty receptive at the start, but we haven't spoke about it much since it seems somewhat pointless. I met with her once just after the NY, and it was a little awkward? She has severe anxiety/mental health issues which is fine, and I somewhat remember a similar feeling I got from her when I first started speaking to her years n years ago. I'm quite anxious but I was p comfortable.
Anyway we've spoke loads since then, text a few times a day and recently we've been calling a fair bit at night since she says im relaxing to talk to when she's not feeling great (though I'm not sure if that's just because my sleeping schedule is just as fucked as hers and I'm the only one awake..). Unprompted, she's sent me loads of nudes - even with my name written on her body on my birthday last week n that was hot as fuck but I don't just want to fuck her, not like I even can at the moment, I did enough of the emotionless thing whilst getting over my ex/it could be just for male validation idek.. I sent her flowers n gift for Valentine's which she appreciated.
I just have no idea how to escalate this? I can't take her on dates or really see her, we talk a lot and I'm not sure if I'm just going to talk my way into the friendzone by waiting too long. I've been taking it very chill since I have no idea what to do apart from the above when I've usually been the one pursued by my past exes. I feel like I'm more flirty in person, even as a socially awkward fuckin nerd, so I'm kinda lost as she seems like she's more awkward than me n she's a hot chick who gets harassed by horny fellas on the reg.
