I started my job at a doctors office a couple months ago and I was supposed to start as a medical assistant but something happened and the office got short staffed on receptionists, so I took that role for a few months. The office is really busy so during these months I was basically glued to my desk. When I started, I met my coworker briefly but I was instantly attracted to him. He’s a really laid back guy who’s super nice, genuine, funny, smart, and a bonus is that he’s really good looking. While I worked as a receptionist, we didn’t get to talk much, just the usual good mornings and things like that. I only heard he has/had a girlfriend from our other coworker and this was mentioned to me in November/December. He has never mentioned her to me himself and by the sound of it, it seemed like he didn’t really like her that much.
Now fast forward to January/February. I get to go work as a medical assistant as planned and I get to work alongside the other MA’s, him being one. Whenever there’s some downtime I feel like him and I always talk about almost anything, whether it’s work itself, school, restaurants, etc. We can just keep the conversation flowing, and it’s just comfortable. We have a few doctors that work in the office and I’ve been trained to be an MA for all of them, while he is only an MA for one. So one day I was told to go work with another doctor and he even said something along the lines of “aww you’re stealing her? She’s supposed to work with me”
We had another mishap at the office so I went back to being a receptionist for a week. Today I went back to being an MA and when I got to work today he was excited that I would back with them again. He said something like “So you’re going to be with us again today?!” He even was excited to show me his repaired phone that’s been broken for months. I like being around him because he’s chill and sweet, and I have a good time. We both laugh a good amount with each other and he’s always super helpful, but I also think that might just be who he is, either that or I feel like he subconsciously might like me and isn’t aware.
I honestly just want to know what other people think, I don’t want to ask if he has a girlfriend because I don’t necessarily know if he likes me or not and I don’t want to make it awkward. I would also never act on it even at the possibility of him having a girlfriend.
