Is this a date?

There’s this girl I met on tinder a few weeks ago who I’ve been messaging with pretty often. We’ve planned to meet up for the first time and are going to an escape room.

Obviously that sounds like a date but the way we’ve been messaging you’d think it was just two friends talking. When we first matched we were just talking and making fun of each other as if we’d been friends for a while and she also calls me “bro” a lot which just further made me feel like this was going to be more of a platonic relationship. On top of that she’s just gotten out of a messy relationship which I won’t go into. I also agreed to meet up under the assumption we were just gonna hang out as friends.

However, the problem is that last night she made a few comments about me looking good on my profile and complementing me, something which we’ve never said to each other before.

I know the obvious answer is to ask her straight up if it’s a date or not, but I’m scared it’ll make things awkward because we’ve never really even flirted with each other and it’ll especially make things awkward if she always saw it as a platonic meet up.

I’m completely fine with this meet up being just as friends (almost kind of want it to be just as friends) but me not being super experienced in the dating scene and being completely oblivious with these kinds of things, I have no idea if it is a date or not.

I’d love to hear people’s opinions because I’m probably just overthinking and kind of nervous.
