Would you become friends with someone you dated after a month of no contact?

Backstory:

I (25M) was dating this girl (27F) for around two months. She had just moved to my city like a week before our first date. We became exclusive for a month and everything was going great for the most part. She was kinda bad at texting but replied when it mattered and was great in person so. Anyways, out of nowhere she went MIA for a week and then texted me saying that she went MIA to think about us and concluded that she felt as though she was “sucked into your life” and needed to step away from being in a relationship to help find her footing in this city. Mind you we met on hinge and she was looking for long term then. But I get it too. I wish we could have talked it out but never got the chance, I voiced this in my reply to her. Also I don’t know about being “sucked” into when half the stuff we did together where of her own hobbies and ideas. But she said she had fun getting to know me and being with me and would like to at least remain friends. I replied no, I can’t switch my feelings up like that after being intimate and haven’t heard from her since. It’s been about a month now.

Here’s the kicker: my two closest friends in my city will be moving away soon. Some of my coworkers have become friends but I feel like I need someone outside of work. Because of this and remembering the good times we had together my mind has drifted to the idea of texting her to see about being friends. Is this a bad idea??
