I was dating my girlfriend for six years (starting in my senior year of high school) and we had even discussed getting married (my suggestion, but she would agree and just say she wasn’t ready).
I felt as though she began to silent quit our relationship about two years ago, right when we moved in with each other. However, this post isn’t about her; I just wanted to provide context. I dated her all throughout college and my adult life to this point and, as a result, I have no idea what to do now.
I’ve been trying all of the dating apps and have been hating them. I live in Wisconsin (in a pretty conservative area) and I’ve been having some pretty poor luck finding someone who shares my interests. It’s like that 3 sliders picture: 1. Shares my interests 2. Doesn’t smoke/is active 3. Lives close to me. I can’t have all 3.
I am just looking for some help or advice I guess. I’d like to go out in person and meet people, but I don’t really know how. The type of girl I’m looking for is the anime/nerd/gamer type and that is exceedingly rare here in Wisconsin. I’ve thought about going to Barnes and nobles, but then what? I don’t want to just approach women and ask them, I’ve heard that ends up making women uncomfortable. Any ideas? I know the general idea is to “go out and meet people” but there isn’t a lot of that I can do in my area…
