It all started earlier this year when we met on a website for finding language exchange partners. She was to help me with Mandarin in return for my help with English. She lives in NY (but she’s from Taiwan) and I live in Texas. We exchanged contact info and soon after had our first video call. At first, my only focus was the language learning aspect - not dating, flirting and so on. So our conversations hit it off really well and I decided to “pursue her” once she gave me an example phrase that said I was handsome. Fast forward to now, we text and video chat on WeChat all the time and are looking forward to eventually meeting each other (we didn’t meet this year because I could not set aside time to go to NY due to unfortunate life events). She’s very attractive, wants to travel to other places with me, cook for me and more.
My question is though, is she too old for me? I realize that when I’m 39 she’ll be 50 and when I’m 49 she’ll be 60. I don’t believe I want kids so I’m not not giving this factor any weight. I really like her and all but I am torn about which direction to go - whether to continue what we have or to discontinue due to the age gap.
