For me, character is obviously important. I would not consider dating someone who has proven themselves to be an inconsiderate douche bag. But I also find attractiveness 60 maybe 70% important. What I am physically attracted to is subjective, I don't judge people's character by their looks, I just would not consider them as a romantic partner.
It seems a lot of people shame others for this and get subtly hostile when the reason you don't date someone is "because I'm not attracted to them". And they wear their "I am attracted to personality" like a some sort of holier-than-thou badge.
