I enjoy camping, reading, arthouse films, and cooking, but it’s only a sliver of my personality, and they’re all pretty common and boring.
Most of the time I spend on my career (which I love), volunteering for a non-profit for kids that I’m on the board of, and otherwise I’m supporting my friends, pet sitting or taking care of my nieces.
The latter category gives my emotional connection and meaning, while the former category is just stuff I do in my free time. I’m just wondering why there’s such a focus on leading with one’s hobbies rather than leading with the stuff that actually makes you you you and gives you purpose and meaning?
