Just a quick question for the women of Reddit

When y’all are online dating, and a man messages you acting interested and energetic (not too energetic of course), why do some of y’all instantly start dry texting or never text first? I’ve even gotten to the point where after I’ve asked them a few questions to not only learn more about them and engage with them, but to also gauge how interested they are in me, I then wait to see if they ask me anything. I’ll even throw in the little tidbits like “I see you like Anime… what anime is your favorite?” And then follow it up after they answer with something like “oh? I’ve heard that’s a good one! I’ve never seen it. Only seen like two lol” and they just always ignore my little “hey you should ask me a question” thing that I put in there. Then when Ive asked like three questions if they don’t say anything, I’ll ask “is there anything you’d like to know about me?” And it’s usually “idk” or “just tell me why you would like to about yourself”. Are they not interested or just being cautious? On a side note, why do most women (of the few chats I’ve had on the apps) dry text or act uninterested however their texts seem somewhat interested? Do y’all just already know from looking at someone’s bio that you’ll never date them but instead of swiping left y’all just let it play out anyways? Or is it caution? I just feel so defeated. I try so hard to act interested (a normal amount of course) and engage with them but I end up getting dry tested and sometimes ghosted
