What made him change?
Hi everyone,
I’ve (25F) been seeing a guy (28M) for about two months. We’re exclusive but not officially boyfriend/girlfriend.
For context, **he was the one pursuing me in the beginning.** He was consistent, affectionate, initiated conversations, and made it very clear he wanted to date me. That’s part of why this sudden change has me so confused.
About a week before all this happened, I asked him where we stood. He told me it was “definitely heading there,” that he wanted a little more time together first, and that he thought he was going to be the one to ask me.
A few days later, he casually told me he’d booked a **3-week trip abroad** leaving two days later. I was completely blindsided because he’d already booked it before telling me and acted like it wasn’t a big deal.
The night before he left, we had a sleepover, cuddled all night, and he told me he’d miss me and wanted to FaceTime while he was away.
Since he’d be gone for his birthday, I celebrated it **before he left**. I got him a gift and made him a small cake, I really tried to make it special.
The trip ended up falling apart because he was denied entry and came back after only a few days, but instead of coming straight home he stayed in another city for a while. Communication became really inconsistent, and I felt like I was always the one reaching out.
At midnight on his actual birthday, I posted him on my Instagram story and later called to wish him happy birthday. That’s when I found out he was flying home that night—he hadn’t even told me. He said he was planning to tell me after he landed.
The next day he texted saying he’d arrived home and was exhausted. I replied and he never responded.
Today I called him because I still hadn’t heard from him. The call lasted about 20 seconds. He said, **“Just give me 2 minutes, I’ll call you back.”**
He called **2 hours later as if nothing happened and like everything’s okay. he told me he’d be down to chill on Friday…..**
What is happening what even am i in? like i don’t understand what changed
