I (25f) have to opportunity to buy my father's half of my parents house. (Woohoo, it's a divorce 😅). This is objectively nicer than anything I can afford on a single income, combined with the overwhelmingly low interest rate they got during COVID. It's a smart financial decision.
But... I'd be living with my mom as a roommate for at least a few years until one or both of us wants to sell the house. This is not a concern in most ways. We get along well, she is good about privacy, and the house is big enough to fit both of us or even several more roommates.
My concern is that this is going to unlivably weird for any potential romantic partners. Am I signing up for that forever alone life by doing this?
