Some background...I (30) met a guy over the summer and was seeing him for 3 months. I thought it was leading somewhere and started having deep feelings for him. He didn’t feel the same way and wanted to keep it casual so we stopped talking. He messaged me recently and we agreed to go on a date. The date was really nice, romantic, and we talked about seeing each other again, and we hooked up.
Anyways, I went on his social media to see if there’s anyone else in the picture and I clicked on his friend’s profile. I notice there’s pictures of the same girl and the guy I was seeing over the past two months. I check out her profile and based on her high school graduation year, there’s no way she’s over 21 or 22.
I know I’m making assumptions but I feel really disgusting. I’m positive he’s seeing this girl (there’s a picture of them a few days after our date last week). I thought so highly of him and felt sick to my stomach knowing I started falling for this guy. The age difference is big but what really bothers me is that she’s so young! I can’t help but think it’s predatory behavior and I’m finding it difficult to understand how I didn’t sense this while seeing him!
Is it normal for me to have this reaction? Has this happened to anyone? I’m feeling really disgusted with myself and how I could ever have feelings for a person like him
