I went to dinner last night at a (female) friend of mine's house, and seemed to hit it off with one of her housemates. I was there for just over two hours and it genuinely seemed like she was interested in me, but I also might be clueless...
I texted our mutual friend (her housemate) and asked if she was single, and she excitedly said yes and said I should try talking to her. The problem is I have absolutely no idea what to say -- I was reading online advice and got all sorts of mixed signals; some said I must use the word "date" while others called it the forbidden word. I just don't know how strong to come on -- some advice says to build a platonic relationship before even trying to flirt, while others say it's crucial to establish your intentions at the start.
Would appreciate any advice, especially from college-age girls :)
