So I'm 34f widow with a child AND I'm in a healthy place to date, so I am dating. I avoid the dating apps if possible though so when I meet someone in person, they dont necessarily know I have a kid.
I do not want anything serious. Frankly, i do not know what I want. What I do know is I enjoy my alone time so I'm not desperate to find anything but do enjoy socializing. I'm not looking for someone to parent my kid, I am financially stable and, with past trauma in my life, I have a very positive attitude about life.
I've noticed guys shy away from (or so I think) dating a lady with kids. I wish this wasnt the case. I feel they automatically think I'm divorced and theres drama. Or they dont want the responsibility.
Men: how is my situation perceived and is this too heavy for men to date? I tend not to tell dates I'm a widow (I say I have a kid) anymore because it makes them awkward, it weighs down the light conversations I enjoy, or they think I'm vulnerable. I'm very open about it, but I understand others may not be. Any advice would be great. Thanks!
