Recently, I went on a first date with a girl that I thought went really well and I found myself really liking her. We got drinks and had a pleasant conversatation that last about 2 hours (neither of us check or phones during that time). Granted we both uncovered some things that might have been incompatible / difficult to work though but I still felt like there was a strong connection.
At the end of the date we said our goodbyes, I gave her a small hug and then, unexpectedly she gave me a quick kiss on the lips, said bye and walked off.
I was absolutely surprised so I kinda spaced out in amazement for a little bit so I don't exactly remember the turn of events, but I recall just walking back to my car with a big smile on my face.
I wait a day to text her back, sent a message about a small inside joke we made and saying I had a good time, and then nothing! Almost a week's time and she never responded.
I am just curious to know if this it at all normal. We are both in our mid 20's (and I am a hetro male) so there might be some maturing to do on both of our ends, but part of the reason why I liked her was because she seemed to really have her life together and wanted something serious, so being ghosted after being kissed just really befuddles me.
The thing is that this has actually happened a 3 other times before. Granted, most these times I could tell pretty early into the date that the girl was more into flirting than anything serious, but not with this most recent date.
Ive spoken to many of my closer female friends and my sister and they all said they would never kiss a guy unless they were almost completely certain they wanted to see him again.
Is this normal?
