For reference I’m 15f and I’ve had a crush on my friend (15m) for a while. This year it’s grown really intense. We don’t really hang around each other during school because we have different friend groups and different classes, but after school he’ll go to the library some days so I’ll tag along with him.
We’ve been going to the library together for a few months now. It started with us just sitting next to each other on one of the desks to us sharing a chair or sitting next to each other on the couch. Back in November, I told him that I liked him. I didn’t necessarily think he liked me back but he showed some signs of interest. He sat there in silence for awhile after I told him and kept saying “I don’t know, man.” and he said “I’m not saying this just to say it. Like, I genuinely don’t know. That type of stuff (relationships) haven’t been on my mind recently.” It hurt but I got over it and we’re still friends and I asked him to think about it and he said he would.
But here’s the thing, it’s February now and we’ve started being “closer” I guess. Like, sometimes we’ll literally sit in the same chair and he would put his arm around me- not tightly but it was around me. And I started holding his hand while we’re sitting together and he doesn’t pull away. He doesn’t pull away when I lay my head on his shoulder either. So either I’m getting a lot of mixed signals, like he’s just being friendly or does he like me now?
I want to ask him again but I don’t know how to go about it. It seems weird to confess that I like him all over again cause what if he remembers, right? So what do you think I should do? What’s your guys’ take? (BTW if you made it through this post thank you for reading! I know it’s kind of long but it would really mean a lot if you gave me advice. I know this seems shallow but I really like him).
