Have you ever dated someone for a year without wanting a relationship but ended up together after?

I’m currently dating this guy and we’ve been dating for 7 months tbh I love how it is now. I just got out of a 5 year relationship and he got out of a 1 year relationship so we both weren’t ready for another relationship just a rebound. 7 months later were still doing the same but it’s more than before. At first it was a lot of issues on my end because I’ve always been a relationship I never quite “dated.” I’m 25, he’s 34. I was really jealous at first and was acting like it was a relationship which made me stress and cause drama when we’re both single. I now have come to a place that I’m aware that I’m not ready for another relationship I really need to focus on me. So In a way this relationship works out fine. Here’s the thing we both just admitted that we’re starting to really like each other but we’re still not ready yet. He suggest after a year if we haven’t decided by then that we would decide if we want to be together. He still talks to other girls and I’m trying to focus on myself so I don’t think about it. I don’t talk to anyone else which probably will backfire on me in the end. Any suggestions or opinions on how we could continue making it work and not get caught up in feelings before then?
