Redditors, what's your opinion on dating someone who still talks regularly with their ex?

I (23F) currently just started dating someone (25M) who is like this. They're constantly exchanging favors and I'm feeling like I'm a third-wheel/rebound. I am so done with him. Absolutely will not go along with this. I deserve much more respect, so I'm moving on.

I think in the future, I will be much more careful when choosing partners. An ex is an ex, which is history. I don't think people should keep bringing their ex into their current lives because it is not fair to the other person. It's all a matter of respect.

What are your opinions?
