So I’m a manager at a restaurant. I recently moved to open a new location and I’m working at our currently open restaurant until the new one is ready to go.
During my time here, I’ve flirted with one of the bartenders. Nothing serious. Just playfully teasing each other.
So I work my last shift at this location two days ago. So yesterday I decided to come get drunk here. She, let’s call her Alexa, was bartending. So I get pretty drunk and at one point, said something along the lines “we aren’t even friends, we haven’t hung out”
Alexa replied “well that’s because you haven’t asked for my number or given me yours”
I was drunkenly surprised for a second because this seemed overtly flirty but I wasn’t sure.
So as I’m closing my tab, I give her my phone. She calls herself and saves my number. I then say let’s grab a drink and she responds “let’s get a drink on Friday.” I text her later and we chat for a few minutes.
Fast forward to today, I actually was called into the current restaurant to deal with some thing. I come in and Alexa is here and we continue flirting (I think). She then tells me she can’t grab a drink on Friday because she has to work an event for our company. I know this is true because I know which event it is and I know she’s working it.
So I suggest we grab a drink tomorrow. She replies maybe. An hour or so later, I tell her let’s grab dinner actually and she replies sure.
Now...I genuinely don’t know if she is just being friendly or if she is actually interested. Please help.
PS: She is no longer my direct subordinate so it’s okay for us to see each other.
