Wait or no wait (18M with 17F)

In short, Im currently going for smo whose in her final year before post secondary. After multiple dates, I feel like our personalities align and that the bond is strengthening. Though I've never said it explicitly, I've hinted a few times at the possibility of being tgt with her as we started as friends. After our previous date, she promised me she'll be ready with her final answer 24 hrs from the writing of this post.

Being the terrible person I am (mind u I'm insecure af), Ive also known her close friend (never liked her, always saw her as a person I could trust though and would act as the bridge between the girl and I) and decided that she would definitely know of the answer (as she's best friends with the girl I'm chasing. In a nutshell, her close friend told me that she wants to focus on her senior year of high school before pursuing love. Despite this obviously sad answer, her friend mentioned how she rlly liked my looks and my personality and how she enjoyed everything we've done up til this point. From the dates to the calls, she rlly liked me according to her friend. Her friend told me to wait and continue to support her until she finishes her uni applications and her school year, asking her out on prom.

As a guy with no past experiences with dating, I'm in a truly difficult situation. I don't know how to react to her answer in 24 hrs, both what to say and what not to say as I am aware of her answer.I don't know if it's worthwhile waiting for her (though I'm truly sure I have feelings for her and her only). In fact, I'm not even sure of how to word "I'll wait til ur ready" without putting mass pressure on her. Lastly, I'm just really concerned that someone will pull her before I can do anything about it. The only thing I'm sure I'll do is continue supporting her and her post secondary applications with the hopes that she achieves what she's always wanted, a spot at her fav university and prgm. My mentality has always been: "There's always many in the world more attractive, intelligent, and richer than myself, but I know I beat all of em in loyalty". Words cannot do justice to how much I really love this girl and how strong I have feelings for her.

I would appreciate any help, I truly am stuck at the moment and I'm facing a crisis I've never once faced in my life. That being said, thx to everyone who responds or spent their time reading this post!
