So, this happened . I connected with a gentleman on tinder. He was about my age ( 5 years older) attractive, and we had some nice exchanges. Agreed to meet. When we met he looked much older than his profile stated and reflected. I point blank asked him how old he was. He was uncomfortable, but admitted that he was 10 years older than his profile stated, and that his pictures were “ 5 to 7 “ years old. He told me that he preferred younger women ( mind you, I’m 56, so younger is relative )and that if he put his real age ( 71) no women my age responded. I told him that had I known he was 71 that I would not have responded either. No offense, but that feels too old for me at this point. And he did look 71.
I felt manipulated and lied to. I don’t know how to get past that. We had already ordered drinks. So I paid for my drink, but declined to order food, as I did not want to continue the date.I politely told him that I could not get past the deception. I left 25 minutes after meeting. He texted me after I left that I was quite rude to do that. So.. AITA?
