Am I(20M) overreacting to how this girl (19F) is acting after shooting me down?

So there was there is this girl who was in my virtual class in college and I found out she lives 2 miles away and I asked if she wanted to study together in person and she said yes. When we met up I was making her laugh a whole bunch and I was being pretty flirty. Before dropping her off I asked her if she wanted to hang out, outside of school and she said yes and to text her when I got home. I asked her over text asking if she wanted to go to an escape room and she said yes. She kept putting it off and I said she if she had no interest in meeting up that was cool and she said that she wanted to see me and she said she did.

Last Monday she suggested we go for a run on Wednesday and I said cool and my gut told me something was fishy so I just pulled the trigger and told her I like her.

She then told me she had been talking to someone for a few months and a few days prior she had made it official with him. She said she wanted to stay friends and that she really means that. I wasn't really upset, that she was with someone else but I just felt it was stupid she kept talking to me if she has a boyfriend and said we should work out together if she just got with someone.

After getting her telling me I just sent her a "(:" and she replied with the same

She used to never ever look at my stories on snap chat and on instagram and now all of a sudden she is the first one to see them now. I think she just had me around because she liked the attention and I am just wondering if she is just surprised that I'm not simpin over her. She said we should be friends and she hasn't hit me up since so I think she was attention-seeking.

Thoughts?
