Ok this is lame but bear with me
I (19F) just started my freshman year of college this semester, and haven’t met many ppl considering covid.
I went to my dining hall about a month ago when it was pretty empty & had small talk w the guy that worked at the taco station.
He asked me how my day was, I said good & asked him the same. I asked him when the dining hall normally closes & we struck up a bit of conversation. Told him I was new this semester, learned he was a freshman too, said what dorms we lived in, found out he just started working there & told him I was thinking of working at the dining hall myself.
I’ve been trying to meet ppl & felt like this was going in the direction of asking him for his social media or something or even to hang out.
My friend came over & was like “who’s this?” And I said something like “oh, actually I never got his name” and when I looked back I realized a guy was waiting behind me so I said it was nice meeting him and scrambled off.
wish I went back & just asked for his name but my friend made me feel weird abt it so I didn’t.
I wanted to go back the next day and ask, but his station was busy & I just got nervous. now it’s been like a month. Idk if he even remembers me but sometimes I’ll order from him & I just wanna strike up another conversation, get his name & snap or something.
I see him all the time at the dining hall now, when he’s on break sitting alone, and it’s just driving me crazy that I didn’t even get his name.
He seems like a really nice guy, wore glasses & my friend compared him to Michael Cera. I definitely developed a crush on him & am gonna regret not finding out who this guy is.
I leave in 2 days. If I see him again at the dining hall, how do I somehow become his friend?
